Critical fire weather conditions will develop across the Front Range Foothills, South Park, I-25 Urban Corridor, and the eastern plains of Colorado today. The worst conditions can be expected from mid-late afternoon through the evening as southwest winds increase with gusts of 30-45 mph. The strongest winds will occur from South Park across the Palmer Divide area, spreading to the Front Range Foothills for the evening. The winds will combine with relative humidity values in the single digits to create conditions favorable for rapid wildfire spread. Avoid any activity that may produce a spark, and be ready to take swift action should a wildfire start closeby. Always follow instructions from local officials.
